A Little Taste of Jerm 1.12 – 1.14 “A Little Taste of Jerm” is a mod for the game MineCraft, based on the famous Adventure Island mod which is quite popular among MineCraft fans. This one follows a short story revolving around two teenage brothers and their quest to find the legendary pirate captain. As they were walking on a bridge, they come across an old pirate ship and a mysterious chest. Inside, the chest has something very valuable inside. That’s where your quest begins.
Once you open the chest, you find that it’s filled with several useful items. Some are required for furthering your progress, while others can be used for “quest items”. Some of these include the Captain’s Hat and Boots of Travel, which will increase your travel speed, reduce your block breakage and allow you to leap very high. The other useful item is the Compass, which is required in several quests. You will need it to find clues to the location of the final chest in the tower.
The story revolving around this mod starts when one of your friends, named Mike, takes up a new friend request. To his surprise, he’s been invited to meet two friends who want to try an adventure of their own. Your task is to help them obtain the items needed for the journey and help them along the way. This is where the game really gets started, as your tasks become more difficult and you’ll be whisked away on an exotic journey across the islands.
Although the story is exciting, the actual game play is far from thrilling. This is true even for the ‘hero’ of the story, Michael. Despite his impressive first attempt, he doesn’t seem to last long enough to satisfy the quest requirements. You are also forced to find a new ‘princess’ for the quest, which doesn’t really add much content or challenge to the adventure. The whole experience ends abruptly without any sign of the princess.
A much better game for the time, A Little Taste of Jerm is a side-scrolling action/adventure game that has you trekking through the two islands of Jerm along with two friends. You’ll find a map on your desktop after loading up the game, which will help you track your progress throughout the adventure. You start with only two lives and the map is your map to help you find your way. There are three areas for you to complete the game:
The graphics are fairly colorful and the overall appearance of the game is quite nice. There are some lovely effects such as water splashes, stars, and animals in the background, but other than that, this game just doesn’t have anything special going for it. It certainly doesn’t help that there aren’t any sound effects, although this can be changed by purchasing the sound clip organizer in the game. Otherwise, the story is pretty generic and not very interesting.
