Chameleons are an interesting and unique clade of Minecraft reptiles with more than 202 documented species identified as of July 2021. These spectacularly colored reptiles come in an astonishing array of colors, with many of them having a green or grayish color scheme. They range in size from an inch or so up to five inches. Chameleons have small, movable, streamlined bodies, and an overall body look very much like that of a small cobra, but with the tail being longer and slimmer. This allows these creatures to move about easily, but their claws lack a sharp edge, thus making them dangerous and hard to kill (provided they are not provoked).
Since these creatures have never been seen in captivity, it is still unclear what they feed on, although most of the available information points to spiders and ants as main prey. These creatures are known to make use of their highly developed sense of smell to locate food, although the exact sensory mechanism is unknown. Whatever they eat, it must be sufficiently nutritious to sustain their existent lives, and since they are scavengers by nature, their dwellings must be extremely well constructed to facilitate this metabolism. Minecraft Mod implements several new features in order to allow players to feed these creatures properly.
One of the first things that Minecraft Mod adds into this game is the Chameleon Pet. These creatures are initially purchasable as eggs, but can later be hatched at a shelter of your choice after they are raised. There is actually only one species of Chameleon that can be hatched, but as they get closer to adults, more will appear. These creatures then go on to wander around the map, looking for preys. Players are able to assist them by providing them with food, which helps them to breed more quickly.
As it is easy to tell the gender of the Chameleon depending upon the egg, this makes it incredibly easy to control where these little creatures go. Furthermore, the minecraft mod allows players to place flags on their cages that indicate which area of the map a particular Chameleon may be found. Once they have been fed and have grown into adulthood, these animals can then be captured and bred. This process takes roughly three days, after which a fully grown Chameleon will be ready to be released into the wild.
The Chameleon is an excellent predator, capable of causing massive amounts of damage from a safe distance. However, they have a weakness when it comes to approaching their predators head-on, due to the fact that their body is very small compared to the wide, stationary legs that allow it to move quickly. A well trained Chameleon can easily evade any attack, but if you do happen to come face to face with one, don’t think you’re automatically safe as it is very possible for them to run away from such an encounter. That is why you should constantly be on the lookout for these creatures as they are extremely agile and can often be seen swimming through the waters while emitting a pheromone to lure unwary victims.
Whilst there aren’t many types of creatures in this game, the Chameleon is by far the most famous. Due to this, they are commonly referred to as “the Chameleon” or “Chameli” in world minecraft games, because the game is named such. These creatures are indigenous to the warm ocean depths where they hunt sharks and other marine life. There is even a boss quest based around the Chameleon – which you can only do if you’re playing on a server that has this mod installed. It doesn’t get much more simple than that!
