Forge Labs has presented another mod of their Survival mods called Deserted Island Survival. This one will surely keep you busy in-game, as it promises plenty of challenges. You’ll be required to build a shelter and deal with some difficulties along the way. And perhaps, your shelter will need to survive even before you’ve started on building it. And if that’s not enough, you’ll have to look out for hungry zombies and other survivors as well.
The Deserted Island Survival mod packs quite a challenge for its players, mostly because of the various elements included. The mod is created as a side-mod for Minecraft 1.5, which is quite a challenge by itself, so the Deserted Island Survival has been made to make things easier for players. This survival mode uses the official Survival mode, but does introduce a couple of twists to spice things up and make it more fun to try and survive. The goal of this mod is to help you achieve your goals in the most fun way possible.
For one, you’ll be able to choose between many different terrains, which can all be modified depending on your needs. For example, grass can be tilled to make it grow, while sapling trees are placed next to the surface for stalks and fruit trees. If you’re on a tight budget, the mod can also make do with gravel and cobblestone for the floor and cobblestone for the walls. With the resources you have, you’ll be able to build a sturdy shelter that can protect you against the zombies as well as from other hazards.
In addition, the Deserted Island Survival mod has several different tools for you to use. A hammer can be used to chop wood and stone, a hoe can be used to till the soil and a shovel can be used to collect resources. Don’t forget to stock up on food, though, or else you may face starvation as you try to take care of the zombies. Other items include a bandage and bandages for healing, which is important if you ever get injured, a first aid box, a fishing pole, a shovel and a ration’s table, to name a few.
Deserted Island Survival has several tweaks to the game from the original version, such as a zombie AI that will run towards your shelter at a predetermined speed, as well as a random chance to become soaked in water. As well, zombies will not walk through doorways or climb ladders, making them a little harder to kill. However, with a little help from the mod, you can survive long enough to build a shelter.
Playing as the sole survivor in this Survival mod is both challenging and rewarding. You will face hordes of zombies every hour, unless you stop them with a shout or explosives. You also have a limited supply of weapons and ammunition, meaning you must conserve what you have until resources are more abundant. There are also several challenges from the Survival Guide that will make things even more challenging. These include building towers and bunkers, defending yourself from zombies, and more!
