Dwarfader’s Dwarf Form is a simple mod that improves upon the vanilla game and allows you to build an underground kingdom. It also adds many new creatures, quests, and treasures. I haven’t had much luck with it so far and didn’t bother to make a video to go with it. I’m sure there are plenty of reviews out there somewhere but I haven’t found them yet.
The Dwarfader’s Beneath feature is what really captures me. Basically you can dig up the bottom of the map just by clicking on it. You will be taken down to the bottom level. This is where you can find many rare items as well as many well-crafted weapons and armors. If you get stuck on something you can always return to the surface and come back later.
This mod makes using the Dwarfhammer Online default professions much easier and more convenient. There are many more types of professions available, including the smelter, jeweler, blacksmith, and tailor. These are only some of the new ones that have been added in this mod, and I am sure more will be added in the future.
I downloaded both the Unenchanted and the Veteran Addon Pack for my testing. I first played the Unenchanted before using the Veteran Addon Packs. In that pack it was difficult to kill mobs at lower levels, and much more powerful at higher ones. However, the Unenchanted made things very easy once I got past around level 20, as the monsters here were a bit on the weak side.
It wasn’t long until I decided to put the Dwarfader’s Beneath mod into use. It turned out to be one of the best mods I’ve ever used for Dwarf Fortress. The mod increases the experience you earn from quests, fights, and workshops by a ton. It also makes grinding easier and more efficient, because every time you place a building next to a workshop or a fight zone, your civilization earns an extra point.
The final thing I wanted to discuss was the hero units in the Aion Heroes Addon Pack. In each of the classes, there are different characters for each race, and each of them play a special role in the game! For example, the undead characters in Aion have the ability to raise zombies to fight alongside them. That makes them very useful as units, especially if you’re going into enemy territory or are out looking to pick off one of their healers.
