Welcome to another of my review of Enigmatica 2: Expert – E2E 1.16.5 Minecraft Mod. Like the previous version, this one too comes from Donut Studios and the makers of the popular hit MC Mansion game on Facebook. In this version however, the focus is on the content of the game instead of the graphics. That’s a good thing, because the graphics of the game are quite decent, but the rest of it is pretty forgettable. So what’s good about the mod? We’ll answer that in the next paragraph.
First of all, it’s nice to have a game that makes you think. This one comes with an almost limitless number of ways in which you can play the game. You can choose between having it strictly for single player and multiplayer modes. I found that with the limited number of players in multiplayer, I got into the action much faster because I could see other players better. However, if you want a game where you can have an entire group of friends playing, Enigmatica is definitely for you.
Another aspect that the game has that stands out is the content of the Enigmatica world. The world is generated procedurally, which means that the details and settings of the world are entirely randomly generated. As a result, there are a lot of things you can do in this Enigmatica world. There’s something for every player: farm, mine for resources, build shelters, fight other creatures, fly, swim, go flying to space, explore the topography of the world, go mining, take a dip in the ocean or just hang out at the beach to have some fun.
Another feature of the mod that really interests me (and that many people probably would like to know about) is the crafting system. Players have the ability to craft all sorts of materials. These include food, plants, metal ornaments, tools and many more. You can actually spend quite a bit of time just creating the basics for your character, and then adding the decorative items to make them look nice.
In order to gain the most from the game, players need to have the right mindset. They need to be willing to do what it takes to be successful. Because the world is procedural, there are no real end game rewards unless you conquer the world. But even if you don’t get the materials you need to build the shelters or create the tools, it’s still possible to level up and become a better player, because the challenge is always there for you.
I don’t think it’s exaggerating to say that Enigmatica is a very addictive game. It’s definitely one of the most difficult games around. And it’s so wonderful how this mod creates a feeling of accomplishment, as well as, a challenge that will keep you coming back. For me, the biggest reason to play this game is the fact that it’s free!
