Imagination is not something limited to humans, as the well-known child’s playbooks of the preschools would prove. Imagination is also important in creating maps. This mod adds the feature of using a World Editor to allow players to make their own maps and share them with other players online. Players select their terrain and the features they would like to include in their map – the features depend on what type of game the player is playing. After choosing which maps to include in the pack, the player sends a request to the World Editor to download the data and save it into the server.
The World Editor has a list of available maps. To choose which one to use, the player just clicks on the desired map. It takes just a few seconds to load the map in the server and to begin playing. One can zoom in and out using the mouse or the keyboard depending on the mode of the player. Features such as destroying the ground units, flying units and building structures are possible only with the use of the keyboard and the mouse when these things are used in specific areas of the map.
While some of the content of the world is pre-set, there are others that the player himself has to change. For example, the number of lakes and rivers in a certain area may be set by the user. In order to change the same, the player would have to enter /save/enable the new content in World Editor. There is a help file that lists all the commands and words that the player must know in order to fully enjoy the mod.
Image Maps Minecraft Mod has many advantages over other similar mods. For example, terrain that has been raised will appear as a plain black tie with no extra decoration. Water is also placeable, and some of it may even be turned into other resources. You can also create bridges and edit existing ones.
Some of the maps also give the player the chance to be more creative. For example, one can add trees or plants to the map, which will then provide food and water for the player. They can also make bridges to connect different areas together.
Another great thing about this mod is that it can be configured per user. This means that one person can play with a different world layout while another player will have a completely different setup. They can also be adjusted per server. This means that a player on a dedicated server will have their own personal set of options. For example, they can enable or disable the “chat” option, and make the camera zoom in or out. This makes for a lot of interesting possibilities, and the ability to make adjustments on the fly is a welcome addition.
