This is a review of the popular mod, Kawaii World! 1.16.5 by iodine. I’ve always had a soft spot for the islands and have always fancied that there must be a way to colonize them (and it’s possible!) This game is part of a much bigger game of minecraft mods that is slowly gaining in popularity.
I love the idea that you are to help the tiny island of Kohama and rebuild it so it is more like paradise. You start off as a rookie farmer and must do your best to grow your crops and earn money to buy equipment and items to help you in your quest to make the island into the most prosperous in all the world. I especially love the part where you are constantly harvesting new plants and trees to sell for money. But I digress. As the island progresses, you earn money and power and are even offered more challenging quests to complete.
The island is so pretty to look at, that I almost forgot about the fact that you are to grow vegetables and take care of animals and fish to make them produce income for you and the island. The fish and plants and trees all interact with one another to keep everything running smoothly. The way in which the island is designed, though, makes this mod a little bit more complex than the others, especially for the more casual players. You will be able to build twice as many houses and have twice as many animals as other games which limit the number you can buy.
The biggest challenge in this game is how to make sure you have the right resources to run your island efficiently. For example, I tend to build my farms after I have done all the other things first, but this game is not quite so strict. My suggestion would be to research as much on the effects of the weather, the terrain and the time of year, as well as how your crops will behave when the weather is at its worst (which is only every few days).
Another thing I found after playing for a week or two is that it’s much harder to build something if it’s not raining. If it rains a lot you can’t put up your fences and keep the water out. This means you have to use resources and money to build up your fences. In fact, a lot of your money goes into the upkeep, because you need to pay to keep the water out too!
Overall, this game is really fun to play. You can see how the creators spent a lot of time and effort on this one! It’s a very good simulation of real life, but it’s a lot of fun to play too. If you like farm management games and you enjoy the thought of having your own farm to run, then you should definitely check out Island Heaven!
