A few days ago, I was having a discussion on the Minecraft Mod The Mafia Wars NoMobSuffocation Mod. My opinion about this being an excellent mod has not changed even after months of having it and even though I haven’t gotten around to using it myself yet, I believe that the community there is quite good. One thing I noticed about the NoMobSuffocation Team are their willingness to listen to suggestions and complaints. This is evident by the way that they responded to my first suggestion for a mob death knight skin, which was a red one.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the concept or not, but after giving it some thought I figured out that the red color of the skin is kind of visually appealing. I have also noticed that a lot of people seem to like the look of the death knight skin, maybe because it’s a contrast to all of the bright and cheery colors that are so popular right now in Minecraft. After all, death knights are pretty tough guys. When you take that concept of the medieval world and apply it to a game like Warcraft, you get a whole new feel to it. It makes you think of the good old battles and fighting with superior force.
In the original mafia wars game there were many different death knight outfits, and I recall back then it took me forever to find just the right one. Now there are many more that players can choose from, and each one looks different. Having different designs for each class would probably be a lot of fun, and this is something that the NoMobSuffocation team wishes they had done with the game. Right now there are a lot of people playing this game who aren’t really aware of the different options that they have. I would have liked to have seen more added.
Another part of mob safety that No Mob Sulfaterion Minecraft Mod includes is mob targeting. You will now see where the mob will go after you kill it. The mod also includes a block that can target mobs that are flying. It’s unclear as to why this feature isn’t available in the original version but at least you don’t have to waste energy or potions to kill flying mobs.
There are quite a few changes in the NoMobSuffocation version of the mod. Overall, I am very happy with the way it has transformed my game. No longer do I dread finding the perfect item or crafting combination because of how I can just pick a random thing to make it. No Matter what I have been satisfied with the results. The mob targeting is a nice addition too. It makes all of your grinding easier and more enjoyable.
For some this feature may seem a bit too much like modding. I however feel that it is a great feature that could really help many players. People who loved to play survival games before will definitely love playing with a survival based NoMobSuffocation game. This mod really took me by surprise and I am addicted to it now. I hope that it keeps getting updates and that it stays true to its premise, which is to keep things simple and let the game be enjoyed by everyone.
