Project Ozone Lite is the newest in Minecraft mods, which is a completely-up-to-date version of the popular game. In fact, the only downside to this mod is that it doesn’t have a lot of things that the average player would find boring or tedious – just a few tweaks here and there. This is because the main goal of the mod is to provide a fun experience through something that is easy to handle. As such, you won’t really feel as if you’re being overpowered by your own creations – the simple fact that there are many different elements to explore and work with on the map will keep you from getting too frustrated.
The Basics – It’s an exciting mod that deals primarily with the concepts of the classic MineCraft gameplay, but with a twist. Players are not limited to making glass bricks anymore. You can also use these to place dispensers, chests, signs and other structures, so that your creations won’t become too tampered with. Glass for all these structures can be crafted through a new skill, which the advancements unlock as you progress through the levels – but you’ll need to know how to craft it first. This is where the mod starts to show its age, but it’s well worth the wait.
The Mechanics – There is really nothing that’s too complex about the concept of this mod. You start off with a blank floor, a single plant and four types of animals. There are two difficulty levels, which range from beginner (which means the usual fun that comes with playing minecraft) to advanced (which means more challenging game play). As the player to progress through levels, they are able to mine more resources from the bottom and build up the walls of the base more efficiently. Plus, all creatures (normal or boss) have special abilities and weaknesses that can be exploited for kills and collecting rewards.
The Graphics – As far as graphics go, this isn’t one of the most striking things in the game, however it is very pretty. It’s not something that will draw attention away from the rest of the game, but it does do a pretty good job at being pleasant to look at. A lot of the world map is made of clouds, which give it a nice little ‘sky’ effect. Occasionally, a ‘minor’ lightning storm will occur, which is pretty cool. Other than that, it doesn’t get too much better than the vanilla Minecraft experience.
The Music – It isn’t something that is going to blow your mind away with just the mere presence of music. However, it is catchy – and it fits the mod’s theme, of sorts. It’s subtle enough to not interrupt gameplay but not annoying enough to be a distraction. It also has the added bonus of matching the voice of the mod’s main character, Dr. Grord.
Overall, this game is fun. It’s not just a mindless flash game that won’t have any real substance behind it. Instead, it’s full of excitement and a consistently enjoyable experience. It’s not going to be the greatest game on the market, but it’s definitely one that is enjoyable for anyone who likes the vanilla Minecraft experience. As with anything else, you’ll probably only play this with friends.
