Reauth 1.16.5 and the “Reynoldsmod” pack are two of the most popular mods out there, and both have their dedicated fan base. I personally feel that the Minecraft Modpack from Mojang is the best out of them all. This article will be about some of my experiences with the mod pack, and how I like it. This is just my opinion though, if you don’t like it, well I guess it doesn’t matter to you because there are millions of people out there who do.
Basically, the whole point of the mod pack is to allow you to fully control your servers in almost every aspect, from when the server loads up until it is completely shut down. But what does this mean? Well, basically for the first couple of days, everything runs smoothly, but after a week or so, you will start to notice a slight delay while the server loads up or down, or at least it doesn’t seem as smooth. This is mostly due to other players not having an authentication on their server, which essentially is a requirement for the modpack to work properly. If someone doesn’t have an authentication on their server, the game will not be able to tell if they are on-line or offline, and will delay the game accordingly.
The way that this is mostly dealt with by Mojang is by requiring that players create 1.16.5 an Authenticated Server. What is an Authenticated Server? Basically, it is a server that requires people to log in with a username and password before they can access it, and is used for controlling 1.16.5 multiple servers. It also allows you to have complete control over your server, i.e. you can change settings, add/remove plugins, etc… With an actual admin, meaning that you no longer need any modding tools to get things done.
But how exactly does an Authenticated Server work? The way it works is by using the server control panel. This is a simple graphical interface (like MinecraftUI) which allows you to configure various aspects of your server, such as the login process, the inventory, chat messages, the “ping” command, and much more. By using the administrative control panel, you can lock people out of certain areas of your server, ban them from using a particular player ID, or modify nearly every aspect of the server. While some people might consider this too complicated, the fact of the matter is that most people do not have the time or skills required to make the kind of changes necessary to be functional and using the panel makes things much simpler.
One of the biggest problems with Modpacks in general is that they often rely on people being on the server. If you’re logged onto the server while it’s processing something, it’s hard to stop everything that’s going on and have your actions accurately reflect your decisions. With the authentication system, Reauth will take a snapshot of your server when you connect to it, then log you in with that information. Since the authentication system is taking a picture of your server while it’s processing your request, it can be trusted. Even if someone has logged onto the server while you’re away, they will only be able to see information about themselves. Reauth will take a snapshot of the entire server, so you don’t need to worry about your information being vulnerable while you’re offline.
Using a modpack is incredibly easy. All you have to do is download the modpack from the official site and follow the instructions to set up your own installation of the server. Once you have it running, all you have to do is load the Reauth server on your own computer and make sure that your keyboard is set to use the same layout as the one used on the server. This makes it incredibly easy to get into a game and play without having to mess around with configuration settings for your computer. Even if you have no experience with modding or making use of a server before, you should be able to make use of Reauth fairly quickly and easily.
