Tissou’s Zombie Pack 1.16.5 is the newest release of the award winning Survival mods for Minecraft. This has all the content from the original version, but improved in several aspects. It also comes with three new maps: The Forest, Canyon and the Underwater Lake. All maps are new and offer the opportunity to encounter a wide range of zombies while playing as the undead! Some of them have better graphics and sound, but the overall quality of the game is better here.
I must say that in my opinion, the improvements made in this version are excellent! In fact, I loved it so much that I want to share it with everyone else. Here’s what I like about the Zombie Pack in particular. The first map is called “Old School”, and it’s located in the ruined hospital in the center of the map. The concept is quite simple: you have to build your way through the rooms to reach the laboratory, which contains the doctor who will heal you.
When you’re at the doctor, don’t forget to kill all the zombies that walk past. After doing this, continue on to the laboratory, where you’ll find the zombie father of all the zombies. Killing the zombies here triggers an awesome sound sequence, as well as a cut-out effect for all the zombies that appear.
To be honest, I didn’t care about the story line when I started with Tissou’s Zombie Pack. I just wanted to see how the mod would change my game experience. And it did – a lot. The mod adds several useful features that make playing Minecraft more enjoyable, like the ability to pick different styles of armor, the ability to create items on construction sites, new recipes and many more.
But I quickly found out that I didn’t like the way the zombies would chase me around the map. I also wasn’t satisfied with the loot tables, but that’s a small gripe. Like I said, I had fun with Tissou’s Zombie Pack, but the overall experience wasn’t that great. I suppose it might have been different if I had played the game when it was part of the official packs. But in a lot of cases, the mod really doesn’t live up to the hype that Hasbro gave it.
The best feature of Tissou’s Zombie Pack is, perhaps, the mod’s zombie creator. If you’re feeling creative, you can actually make the zombies as you want them. I personally didn’t find that very fun, because the entire point of the game is to kill as many zombies as possible. When I got stuck on something, I simply reloaded a previous save and tried again. It was a very brief experience, but I’m sure there’s still a lot of potential with this mod if you want to create your own zombie killing zombies.
