For those who are unfamiliar with UniDict 1.16.5, it is a mod that allows minecraft players to play with an actual dictionary. These words are not virtual words, but words that are printed on actual paper. Players are able to choose from any variety of words, and there is even a dictionary for each race. This type of mod has become extremely popular in the online game world and is now ranked as the fifth most used mod by Minecraft players.
To access the UniDict dictionary, you will need to add a language file to your minecraft add-on. This language file is located inside your game folder or program files. You will need to visit the official Minecraft mod hub to find the appropriate language file. If your add-on does not yet have this language file, then it is highly recommended that you download it from the official website. Once you have downloaded the file, install it, and then it will begin to automatically populate in the game. This will allow you to have a reference dictionary that you can look up any time to gain a quick definition.
The UniDict mod has several different dictionary files that can be found in various locations throughout the game. You can find these files inside the add-on directory, or in your primary server’s data folder. It is very easy to tell the difference between the two since the primary server stores all of its files in “Data Files”. When installing the minecraft mod, it will place a copy of the dictionary in the default “Data Files” directory. This is also where you will find your own word lists, which can be used for both training and in-game play. These words are typically easy to read, although some words will have special characters such as $ and! shown in their definitions.
As an example, let us say that we are playing as a minecrafter. We are introduced to a new word that has a negative meaning. For our first play-through, we have a tendency to try to remember this word without using it. Upon realizing that we are not using the word, we immediately try to find its definition in our dictionary. We are met with mixed results. So, instead of attempting to remember what the word means, we just quit the game, save, and reload.
If this was our first day playing the game, we would have encountered several instances where we had to restart the game from the last autosave we made. This is because some words/phrases from the game do not have meanings that can be easily remembered by our minecraft character. There are a few times where this can become a problem, especially when you encounter words that you are unsure of their meanings yet, upon hearing them spoken. However, with the UniDict dictionary, this will not be a problem. It is a very handy tool to have in any minecraft server.
If you enjoy creating your own games, but at the same time want to know how to level up fast, then give the UniDict a try. It might just be the solution you need. The only thing is that you need to make sure you install the vanilla version of the game before installing the UniDict mod. Otherwise, you will be forced to use the vanilla version’s version of the word/phrase that you want to memorize.
