Vanilla Plus is the official release of a new Minecraft Mod, by Jens “Starke” Appelt. This mod improves upon the vanilla game in many ways. For instance, I find that there were many things that I didn’t like about the game when it was first released. However, after many hours of testing this Mod, I have found that I enjoy the game much more now than when it was first released.
This Mod adds many brand new shaders to the game, such as those that were only available in Vanilla Plus. It also adds many new textures as well. The shapes and textures are much better than those used in Vanilla Plus, which used a much simpler approach, while maintaining the same visual style.
For instance, there are shaders for all the metals in the game. Which ones are used and which aren’t? How about the trees and grass? The sky? All of these are customizable, so you can get just the look you want. It also gives the game an increased sense of realism, as if everything in the world was realistically drawn and shaded.
There are also several new paints, which give the Vanilla Plus experience a serious boost. To start with, I would say that the new paints are really great. They bring out the best in Vanilla Plus, while still remaining fairly simple to use. In fact, the mod actually has four different painting styles, each having its own specific quality.
There are also several new textures to choose from. I especially liked the new sky shaders. They actually make the clouds and sky look much better than they did before, which was one of the reasons why I stopped playing vanilla a while ago. It’s a nice touch, and I think all the Vanilla Plus shaders are well done, but the sky textures were much more detailed and realistic than I had expected.
So, overall, the Minecraft Modpack actually does a pretty good job of recreating many of the aspects of vanilla that people love so much. There are plenty of new things to explore, like the new shaders and paints. But it is also a case where the mod does not reinvent the wheel but instead just improves upon an already great idea. This makes the Vanilla Plus packs a great package for those who are looking for a more “organic” experience in their game. For those who aren’t into all the customization, or who simply want something better than what vanilla offers, the Minecraft Modpack is still a great option.
