The Warcraft Mod: Void Spawn is a relatively new mod which allows you to spawn monsters that are half health, half armor. You can build these mobs anywhere on your map and they will stay until you kill them or leave the map. This makes the Voidspawn very easy to play with, especially if you do not like wasting time waiting for items to be repaired by an addon.
Unfortunately, this mod is currently only available for testing on the PC. There are not many plans to port it to consoles or other gaming platforms at this time. But that does not mean that you cannot have fun with it. There are two ways to get involved. First, find someone who has the mod and ask them to a spawn camp, meaning that you go there and help them kill some mobs so they can be sent to your camp. This can either make you some extra gold or a little extra experience but is not worth the effort unless you plan to go into higher level areas with your own character.
The second way is to download and install the forge version of Warcraft. This gives you the ability to edit the vanilla files and create your own custom maps. When using the forge version, you will need to know how to make a world edit in Minecraft/config. Then, just copy and paste your custom map into the World Overlay and you will have your very own private “Voidspawn” map generated just for you. This is a great way to get started but is not recommended for more experienced players.
One cool thing about the Voidspawn mod is that it includes a completely new mob called the Batsnake. These guys are like the zombies from the old Warcraft, but way cool. You start off as ordinary brown bats, but when you are killed they explode into purple bats. They can be killed by normal means, but using a pest killing blade or an explosion spell will cause them to become weak and easy to kill. These guys will drop a valuable gem called the Memory. Once every three days they will drop another gem called the Memory Gem.
Another cool feature of the Voidspawn Minecraft Mod is the addition of over one hundred new mob types. These include the Carrion Fly, which is a flying insect mob that fly around and attack other flies. Other new mobs include the Cave Spider, which are very similar to the Spider from the original game, but they are much less aggressive. They can be found in dark areas in the jungle. Other new monsters include the Toxic Spiked Stick and the Fire Spider, which do not drop anything useful.
If you really want to make the most out of the mod, I suggest that you create a multiplayer server. This allows you to invite friends over to play the game. They can then join your game as you fight against each other. The downside of this is that there are now dedicated servers that host the game, so be careful if you choose to do this. My recommendation is to simply install the mod on a computer that you already have, or download it to an off-the-shelf computer.
